	Principal of the College is the Chairman of the Academic Council.
	Is responsible for college administrative matters.
	Represents the College at the University.
	Discharges the academic duties entrusted to him and deals with all matters of academic interest in the Institution at all times.
	Draws up the agenda of the meetings of the College Academic Council.
	Draws up and promulgates the detailed teaching curricula for students in accordance with the general decisions of the Advisory Council.
	Signs and issues academic certificates to the students.
	Presides over the various academic functions of the College.
	Is responsible for the compilation of medical education and research data in this Institution.
	Carries out other duties that may be assigned to him from time to time by the Government.

	Principal of the College is the Chairman of the Council.
	The Vice-Principal (Academics) is the Vice-Chairman/Secretary of the Council. In the absence of the Chairman, Vice-Principal (Academics) presides over the meetings of the Council.
	The College Academic Council determines the requirements of medical education in light of the rules and regulations of the PM&DC.
	Discusses ways and means to improve the standard of medical education and facilities pertaining to their respective departments.
	Lays down the sound policy for award of scholarships, fee concession, curricula, syllabi, distribution of duties of teaching staff, college terms, vacation etc. and also discusses other matters relating to the curricular and co-curricular activities of the College.
	Supervises medical research in the Institution.
	Helps in development of the College Library.
	Considers any matter referred to it by the government or by any educational authority, and reports its opinion and recommendations as and when necessary.
	The College Academic Council has administrative powers to control students' discipline and all other relevant matters including punishments, rustication/expulsion etc.

	Perform the duties of the Principal as and when so delegated.
	Carry out any other duties that may be assigned to them by the Principal, Ayub Medical College.
	The Vice-Principal (Academics) is the Vice-Chairman/Secretary of the Academic Council. In the absence of the Principal, Vice-Principal (Academics) presides over the meetings of the Council.
